Christine Gregoire holds a Bachelor of Arts in speech and sociology from the University of Washington, and a Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law. She began her career as an assistant attorney general, specializing in child-abuse cases, before serving as director of the Washington Department of Ecology.
