Colleen Burton

Colleen Burton was born in Heidelberg, West Germany, in 1958 to a military family. She graduated with a degree in public administration from California State University, Sacramento, in 1980, and married Brad the same year. Burton spent several years working for various nonprofit organizations in Florida, including roles as executive director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Polk County, the Imperial Symphony Orchestra, and Polk Vision. She transitioned into public service, being elected to the Florida House of Representatives for the 40th district in 2014, where she served until 2022. Throughout her career, Burton has held leadership positions on multiple boards, demonstrating a commitment to community service and public engagement.
