Personal Background
David Williams was born in Plainfield, New Jersey, and raised in San Diego, California, before moving to Decatur, Georgia, at age 14. He attended an under-resourced high school and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, subsequently earning an ROTC scholarship to Morehouse College. Graduating from Morehouse, he became an infantry officer in the U.S. Marines. Williams deployed to Iraq twice, leading a platoon in combat operations during his second deployment. After his military service, Williams advanced American interests in Latin America within the U.S. Department of State and served as a CIA Case Officer, coordinating security and intelligence matters. He eventually served as a Chief of Station. Currently, Williams continues to serve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and resides in Reston, Virginia, with his family.
