Ernest Istook graduated from Castleberry High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University, as well as a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law. He began his career in public service as a director and legal counsel before serving as an Oklahoma state representative. Istook then spent nearly fourteen years as a U.S. Representative, where he focused on legislative matters. Post-congressional career, he has held various positions as a distinguished fellow, opinion columnist, and radio and television analyst. Currently, Istook teaches at Utah Valley University and practices law.
