Johanna Lopez

Johanna Lopez was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and later moved to Orlando, Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez, and a Master of Education in Hispanic Studies from Inter American University of Puerto Rico, San Germán. Lopez spent over two decades as an educator, culminating in her recognition as the 2017 Orange County Public Schools Teacher of the Year. She transitioned into public service, becoming the first Latina elected to the Orange County School Board, where she championed community values and educational reforms. Lopez currently serves in the Florida House of Representatives, focusing on education, immigration, health care, business, and consumer protection, and has co-sponsored numerous bills.
