In 2023, Wright transitioned to political management, serving as campaign manager for Yusef Salaam's successful bid for the 9th district of the New York City Council. He continued his public service as Salaam's chief of staff. In January 2024, Wright launched his Assembly campaign for New York’s 70th District, winning the Democratic primary and the general election, and subsequently taking his seat in January 2025.
