Juan Carrillo, born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and having immigrated to Los Angeles at age 15, holds an Associate’s Degree in Architecture, a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Carrillo spent 15 years as a city planner, including a decade with the City of Palmdale, and served on both the Palmdale City Council and Palmdale School Board. These roles laid the groundwork for his election to the California State Assembly in November 2022, where he was re-elected in November 2024.
