Melissa Romano holds an associate of science degree in photography and a Bachelor of Science in social science, both from the University of Bridgeport, as well as a Master of Science in elementary education and teaching from the same institution. She has spent nearly two decades as an elementary math teacher in the Helena Public School District. Romano has demonstrated leadership in education by twice being the Democratic nominee for Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction and has been elected to the Montana House of Representatives, where she assumed office in January 2023.
