U.S.A.
Oliver Larkin was born into an Army family and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He attended Pine Crest School and Phillips Exeter Academy before studying English and History at Sewanee: The University of the South, where he also played football. Larkin engaged in early political activism, working on Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign and leading student climate efforts. He later volunteered for Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign, organized in multiple states, and worked in a Washington, DC communications firm, which he helped unionize.
Oliver Larkin's political identity is marked by a blend of progressive policies with unexpected alliances, such as advocating for Medicare for All while also supporting defunding ICE. His legislative record reveals a calculated approach to balancing regional industrial interests with environmental regulations. Larkin’s rhetorical style often juxtaposes traditional leftist ideals with pragmatic considerations, creating a compelling tension that invites deeper inquiry into his policy justifications.
