Brooke served in the American Revolution, managing military logistics and risk. After the war, he pursued a legal career, becoming a prominent attorney in Virginia. He held various political offices, including serving as the Governor of Virginia and the Attorney General of Virginia. Brooke's leadership roles extended to Freemasonry, where he served as Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Virginia.
