Robert Stockton Green

Robert Stockton Green was born in 1831 in Princeton, New Jersey, and graduated from the College of New Jersey in 1850. He was admitted to the bar in 1853 and practiced law in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Green served on the Elizabeth city council and as the presiding judge of the Union County Court of Common Pleas. He represented New Jersey in the U.S. House of Representatives and later served as the state's governor. Green also held a position as a judge on the New Jersey Court of Errors and Appeals.
