Stella B. Hackel

Stella B. Hackel holds a Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law and a degree from the University of Vermont. She began her career in public service as a grand juror in Rutland, Vermont, and later served as Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Employment Security. Hackel also held the position of Vermont state treasurer and directed the United States Mint under President Jimmy Carter, where she managed significant projects and faced controversy over the destruction of Mint records. Following her retirement, she settled in Arlington, Virginia, and Naples, Florida.
