Timothy J. O'Connor graduated from the College of the Holy Cross and obtained his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He began his career in public service as a Municipal Court Judge in Brattleboro, Vermont, before being elected to the Vermont House of Representatives. O'Connor chaired the House Judiciary Committee and later served as Speaker of the Vermont House of Representatives. After a period of private law practice and continued local governance, he retired from law in 2011.
