Eldon S. Dummit

Eldon S. Dummit was born in 1896 in southwest Missouri and graduated from high school in Monett, Missouri. He earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1920 and subsequently established a legal practice in Lexington, Kentucky. Dummit served as the 34th Attorney General of Kentucky from 1944 to 1948, during which he advocated for fiscal responsibility and conservative economic policies. He also ran as the Republican nominee for Governor of Kentucky in 1947 but was unsuccessful.
